Galaxy Z TriFold sells out in South Korea ahead of planned U.S. launch

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold sold out in South Korea fast. Here’s what we know about restocks and the expected US launch in Q1 2026.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z TriFold in South Korea on December 12, 2025, with initial stock selling out online and in stores, according to Yonhap. The news agency reported that online inventory was exhausted within five minutes.

Samsung offered the phone through its website and 20 stores nationwide. Yonhap reported dozens of customers lining up at Samsung stores, while NewsPim reported that the Samsung Gangnam store in Seoul sold through its stock at about 11:30 a.m.

The launch-day reports did not provide a total number of units sold, leaving the volume behind the sellout unclear.

Samsung priced the South Korean model at KRW 3,590,400, with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage in a single Crafted Black color. SamMobile reported an approximate U.S. dollar equivalent of $2,436.

According to Samsung, the TriFold folds inward at two hinges, opening to a 10-inch main display. It also has a separate 6.5-inch cover display for use when closed.

Restocks and U.S. availability

SamMobile reported that Samsung was accepting sign-ups for restock notifications on its Korean website but had not announced when the device would be available again. Yonhap cited industry officials who expected additional stock the following week; that was an estimate rather than a confirmed Samsung restock date.

Samsung said in its U.S. launch announcement that the Galaxy Z TriFold would be available in the United States in the first quarter of 2026, with further details to follow. The announcement did not specify an exact on-sale date. Samsung also named China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates as markets scheduled to receive the device after South Korea.
