Netflix says Trinity, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Richard Madden, will premiere on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. All seven episodes of the drama series are scheduled to arrive on Netflix that day.

Netflix’s preview includes a trailer and promotional images for the series from writer and showrunner Jed Mercurio.

Netflix’s synopsis follows a naval officer who becomes involved with the secretary of defense, only to discover he may be at the center of a dangerous conspiracy. Mbatha-Raw plays Commander Katherine Decker, while Madden portrays Secretary of Defense Webb Preston.

Cast and production

Netflix identifies Decker as second-in-command aboard the nuclear submarine USS Kansas. Her connection with Preston draws her into intrigue surrounding a secret program code-named Trinity.

The company’s cast list also includes Marcia Gay Harden, JD Pardo, Bruce Greenwood, Robert Wisdom, Kirk Acevedo, Ben Cotton, James Remar, Jason Ralph and Mark O’Brien.

Netflix credits Mercurio as writer, showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producers Wendy Mericle and Jimmy Mulville for Hat Trick Mercurio. Michael Cuesta directed and executive produced the first two episodes.

The series reunites Mercurio and Madden following their work together on Bodyguard.
