On Sunday, Porsche revealed a few improvements to its Cayenne SUV, including improved infotainment technology and a new Platinum Edition option. These improvements are identical to those made to Porsche’s Panamera 2022 line late last year.

The Porsche Communication Management 6.0 interface, housed on a 12.3-inch tablet in the dashboard, makes its way into the Cayenne on the electronics front. In addition to wireless Apple CarPlay, PCM 6.0 offers a more straightforward menu structure than the previous version and, more importantly, adds wired Android Auto support. There’s also an integrated Spotify app, and this update will be available to all 2022 Cayenne models.

The Cayenne Platinum Edition is new for this year, and it adds some beautiful satin platinum touches to the SUV’s exterior. In addition, 21-inch wheels, sport tailpipes, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, Bose audio system, eight-way power-adjustable seats, and other goodies are included on this new model. The slick platinum accents look great on the black Cayenne shown above, but Porsche claims the same treatment can be applied to the SUV’s exterior hues of Carrara White, Mahogany, Moonlight Blue, or Chalk.

Cayenne, Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne S, Cayenne S Coupe, Cayenne E-Hybrid, and Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe are the six vehicles available with the Platinum Edition. Prices start at $80,350 for the base model and go up to $95,150 for the E-Hybrid Coupe, plus a $1,350 destination fee. The Platinum Edition Cayennes are expected to arrive in Porsche dealerships this summer.
